Posting from the UK!

The last time I posted to this site was from Japan.   Similar to my feelings at that time (maybe because there is once again an ocean separating me from the US), I suddenly have (re)discovered my interest in maintaining this blog...!

My main reason for a reemergence into the Blog World is because I have been very uncommunicative with everyone from home, and I want to improve upon this dismal record.  Blogging seems like it could be the easiest and most interactive way to keep in touch (maybe even motivate me to take pictures??  Admittedly, that's pretty ambitious; I think it's best to start with the goal of frequently posting and then commit to picture-taking).

So where to begin??
Basics.  I now live in a place called "Bear Lane".  It is a hidden gem amid(st) the crowded noisiness that surrounds us.  Essentially, my apartment is in the heart of Oxford.  High Street (aka Die Street, as my friend Ishanaa and I refer to it) runs through the center of town and features many lovely, not-to-be-missed commercial attractions like Cafe Nero, the Mitre (favorite chain pub), Raymon's Stationary, and of course, Starbucks.  My flat is about 30 seconds from High Street.
I think that from here, I may just write what has happened in the previous X time unit (hopefully day, if I surpass my wildest expectations for this blog) and let the yawning chasms that are other crucial aspects of my life - which as yet I have left undescribed - be filled in as I go.

For now, I will say that I'm making up my mind whether to write my 4,000 word essay on "war, atrocities and massacres" or"what was the logic of the open fields".  Am very open to ideas and suggestions!!!
